Atlanta Contemporary Exhibit
My show "Creative Writing" is on display at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center through July 27th. I have three pieces that are part of a new series exploring the intersection between historical mosaic work and two-dimensional collage. Rather than creating a pattern or depicting an image with broken or found materials like classic mosaic art, I make each tile by hand and focus on space that each tile occupies and the negative space where these tiles meet. The grout acts as the bloodline between the many facets that together create the scene.
